WHAT DO WE USE TO CLEAN DRIVEWAYS AND PATIOS IN EDINBURGH?
We have a commercial sized Honda gx390 pressure washer, that runs on fuel and draws water from a water container. This is much more powerful than an electric machine, that can usually only run to the pressure that the tap provides them with. Our machine can draw water from a large container and deliver water up to 21 litres a minute and upwards of 3000 psi (pressure), which results in a machine that can shift the most stubborn of marks.
HOW DO WE CARRY OUT PRESSURE WASHING IN EDINBURGH?
We would firstly assess the best area to start on because due to slopes and water pressure, its important to first make a plan of action. We then generally give the area a rough clean first, to remove surface grime and then lay down some chemicals. The reason we do this is twofold, firstly because it allows the chemicals to work better; having already removed the surface grime and also because they actually help us remove more lichen (surface mould), which can be black and white in colour.
When we lay down chemicals, we are sure to protect the surrounding areas and then let it dwell for around half an hour. When we then return to finish pressure washing we use a turbo nozzle (high impact nozzle), that provides the most pressure for cleaning hard surfaces. The chemicals are rinsed off at this point and due to their composition, they also act as a brightener; leaving your driveway or patio not only cleaner but brighter too.

This depends on lots of variables and not only the square meter of your driveway area. The water pressure can impact the price based on how slow or fast it is, as can the steepness of the area; for example an extremely steep drive that sloped back down to the house would take longer to clean than a similar flat area-where we now have to spend a lot of time diverting excess water.
